Unlike the keywords that are used for the Search Engine Optimization, the industry specific keywords are only used in the resumes of the job seekers. For this reason, they are also known as the resume keywords, job specific keywords, buzzwords and CV keywords.

As suggested by the many names, these keywords are in direct relation with the industries they belong to and they are used by the employers and recruiters to find the right people for the right jobs without having to interview unnecessary crowd which may consist of people who are not at all familiar with the their business.

The job seeker are also always advised by the experts to identify and include the industry specific words that are related to the kind of work they are trying to find. The advantage of this method is to two way.

It saves times for both employees and the employers as well. Nowadays no one has the time to read and evaluate each and every resume they receive for job interviews. Big businesses often go through the resumes just to see if the keyword used there are the relevant to their industry.

If yes, they get a job interview and if not, then the time of both the parties is saved by not conducting an interview of an unfit candidate who did not have the qualification or skills required for it.

Besides the highly specific keywords that are used for the specific industries, there are also some of the common keywords for resumes that may leave a good impression on the employers.

This type of keywords are usually have a wide range and they must be used to show the personal qualities of a candidate rather than indicating towards their qualification or highlighting the skills honed especially for the job.

For instance, being punctual is a form of discipline and unrelated to the industry you belong to or the kind of job you have been trained to do.

According to the numerous kinds of surveys that have been conducted to find out what makes a candidate desirable for a job, one of the hottest topics of the survey has been the presence of necessary keywords into the resumes.

Just like other keywords, they need not be single words but also the phrases. It was highlighted by the experts that if a candidate has not received a reply from the employers even if they were perfect for the job, the reason most likely is the absence of the industry specific keywords in their resume.
