Forum posting has been often described as one of the most effective off site SEO tools. But more than a tool, it is more of a community where people and websites come together to discuss. Forums has always been popular with the public, more so because it uses technology and an entirely virtual platform where people talk to each other instead of asking questions to machines.

People can come here without actually and physically having to be here and they can socialize and become a part of a community that contains people from all around the world. Perhaps the success of this kind of forums have something to do with the Baby Boomer generation’s hatred for the technology at the same time as their dependency it.

To use these forums as an off page SEO tool, it takes some time to build your reputation here. The trick is to be active on a forum, keep interacting with people and become a good contributor.

On these forum you can create backlinks and inbound links for your website which will definitely help you in diverting more and more traffic to your website. Forums essentially work on a questions and answers basis and the more you post the more people will interact with you and a simple trick to attract more people to your website is to keep answering questions and queries of people.

Your success on these forum as a tool for SEO entirely depends on your activities. The other factors that come into consideration are relevancy. You need to find a relevant forum that talks about the same topic as your website.

You should not be talking about your food recipes on a forum dedicated to technology. Other than this, the titles of your posts should also be relevant and on point and they should also consist main keyword within the first 100 words.

Most of the forums has a feature called signature. This is a customized signature is given to those people who follows guidelines of the forum with discipline and are actively contributing to it. Creating this signature certifies you as a trusted authority on the forum which automatically leads to more and more traffic being diverted to your website.

But one important thing to remember here is that the use of these forums is one among the many off site SEO techniques and the people can get really addicted to them. Time management is really important while using this platform.
