The merger technique is basically a method of merging your website with a formerly popular one which is now dead for good. The benefit you gain after by this techniques is owing a website which has already gained a name for itself in the market and the best thing about it is that you never had to work for it.

Just like in the wild where the living feed on the dead, the merger technique lets you make profit on the trusted name that was built by someone else. But using the merger technique is not a final shot to success nor is it a guarantee that you would not have to work harder than the previous owner of the website.

This process uses the method of 301 Redirecting while trying to not create a redirecting chain. If the 301 Redirect has been implemented, we know that the website has been moved to a new location permanently. By all means, the technique itself sounds shady and immoral.

After all, are not we all taught in the childhood that it is wrong to steal something someone has earned through hard work? But it is not so in this case, in fact the technique itself is a White Hat SEO because you are not stealing someone’s source of income or their functioning business. It is like buying a house that is abandoned by the former resident and is lying vacant and unused.

The merger techniques does not guarantee the success for your venture but it opens up new doors for more organic traffic to come in and the responsibility of showing that door to the potential new customers and inviting them inside is yours only.

Basically, this technique is just another business opportunity and how much profit you can make is totally up to you. The only downside of this technique is if you buy a website that is totally unrelated to your area of work and their Backlinks have no relevance with the topics that you are exploring.

If that happens it is a sure shot to failure instead of making a profit, not only it confuses the people, it can becomes a mess you will take a long time to get out of.

Another important thing to remember here is to always run a background check on the website you are buying a website otherwise the penalties that was imposed on that website will belong to you once you buy it.
